FFA Veterinary Science Invitational Brings Record Turnout to CCTC

FFA Veterinary Science Invitational Brings Record Turnout to CCTC

Last weekend, CCTC hosted our annual FFA Veterinary Science Invitational, and it was our biggest event yet. We welcomed 40 student participants representing five FFA chapters for a full day of competition and hands-on learning.

Students were challenged in several areas that mirror real veterinary and animal science work. Each contestant completed:

  • A 75-question written test
  • A 50-item identification section covering breeds, instruments, and parasites
  • Four hands-on practicums that tested practical skills and accuracy

We are grateful for the judges who volunteered their time to support student learning throughout the contest. They did more than score events. They helped students understand the process, answered questions, and walked them through steps when they were unsure. That kind of feedback turns a contest into a true learning experience.

Next up, students will take the online state test on Monday, March 16. Results from that test will help determine the next steps as teams prepare for state-level competition in the coming weeks.

Thank you to every chapter that attended, every student who competed, and every judge who helped make this year’s invitational such a strong experience. If you’re interested in serving as a judge or supporting next year’s event, contact us to get involved.
