We are pleased to announce that the STEM Academy of Lawrence County at CCTC will open in Fall 2015. The STEM Academy of Lawrence County is a response to the realization that Southeastern Ohio's future will be built on technological leadership, knowledge creation and innovation. Ten years of STEM education with Project Lead the Way cultivated school wide Project Based Learning implementation and a STEM Academy.
Students will have the opportunity to receive dual credit during their Junior and Senior years to receive the following with one year of post secondary education:
Pathway credentials in each area will be attainable prior to graduation.
STEM education is a teaching philosophy that fosters creativity and innovation and prepares students for success in college, careers and to be responsible citizens. STEM education develops students' creative, analytic, teamwork, communication and problem-solving skills which are all essential to success in today's world. STEM education is not only for those interested in science, engineering, technology or math. All students will develop and apply essential skills through a rigorous and diverse curriculum, a college- and work-ready culture, and personalized learning opportunities at the STEM Academy of Lawrence County.
