Virtual Learning Academy: This is an on-line program to help our students receive additional credit after the regular school day has ended. Some students come to Collins Career Center needing credits due to failure of a class or classes at their home high school prior to attending the career center. Students complete an application with Mrs. Bare, then also pay a licensure fee of $200.00. This fee allows students to use this program for one full year (with the exception of a student who begins using the program in the 12th grade where courses must be completed by April 30). Students may work on classes during the weekend, after school hours, and around his/her work schedule. The classes are convenient yet take a lot of self-discipline to complete. Parents are given passwords to the accounts as well, so they can view progress. Grades are then put on the students permanent record and also recorded with their home high school counselor. The only class students are not able to make-up on-line is P.E..
