- Clinical Medical Assisting - Patient Care Technician - Phlebotomy Classes Begin January 6, 2014
On August 23, 2012, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) ruled that only 'credentialed medical assistants' including CMAs(AAMA) would be allowed to enter medication, laboratory, and radiology orders into the computerized provider order entry system for meaningful use purposes for the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record Incentive Program" (CMA Today, 2012). Collins Career Center is now offering Clinical Medical Assisting as part of the Patient Care Technician Program or as a stand alone program. Both pathways will provide the education and training required to become certified as a Clinical Medical Assistant through the National Healthcare Association (NHA).
